2007 Summer Intern Spotlight 
Insulindependence has selected our inaugural 2007 Summer Internship Team from the ranks of students and staff at the University of California at San Diego. Interns are working with advisors to build membership and financial support and to increase community awareness of Insulindependence and our mission. Lindsay Coyne
“I am originally from northern California. I am going to be graduating from UCSD in December with an Econ major, Poli Sci minor. Some of my hobbies are flying, traveling, running, and anything water related.”

“I am a second year UC San Diego student majoring in Bioengineering. Aside from long walks on the beach and candlelit dinners, I also enjoy reading and playing sports with friends. I have lived most of my life in Thailand.” |

Michael Kendal
“I am a research associate with Jerry Olefsky in the Dept. of Medicine at UCSD, researching type II diabetes. I finished my BS in bioengineering at UCSD and, after a couple years of research, I plan to start the path to become a physician.”

“I am originally from San Francisco. I will be a senior at UCSD pursuing a major in Management Science. My hobbies include playing tennis, racquetball, and other sports in general. Some of my favorite foods are chocolate and ice cream.”

“I just finished my second year as biology major at Revelle College, UCSD. I want to go to medical school with plans to become a diabetes researcher. I came to San Diego from Vietnam when I was 4 and I have been here since then.” |
