 2008 Summer Intern Spotlight
Insulindependence has selected our inaugural 2008 Summer Internship Team from the ranks of students and staff at the University of California at San Diego. Interns are working with advisors to build membership and financial support and to increase community awareness of Insulindependence and our mission. Noor Moustafa
"This year I’ll be a senior at the University of California, San Diego, majoring in human biology. I’ve been a Type 1 diabetic for 17 years and it hasn’t stopped me yet! I grew up in Santa Monica, went to high school in Dubai and now I’m back in California. I love to travel, dance, experience different cultures and exotic foods. I hope to one day become a Pediatrician and my guilty pleasure would have to be cupcakes!" |

Rachel Savage
"I will be a senior next year at Seattle Pacific University, majoring in Visual Communication and rowing for the Varsity crew team. I aspire to be someone who uses the talents God has given me to bless Him and the people around me. My passions include photography, design, travel, and speaking Spanish. I have had diabetes for 9 years now and I'm ever hopeful for a cure!" |

Jenny Vandevelde
"I am a Kinesiology and Social Work major at San Diego State University. I like to travel the country (and someday the world) – I’ve been to all but 3 states. I also love all sports – I play soccer (outdoor, beach, and indoor), basketball, hockey, and volleyball. I have biked through Death Valley twice while raising $20,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. I will be one of 25 Global Heroes running in the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon this October." |
