To wrap up the Diabetes and Exercise Seminar, type-1 children who have pledged their support to Insulindependence will have the exciting opportunity to ride a small segment of the team’s 175-mile tour, alongside the weekend’s featured athletes: Canadian Olympian Chris Jarvis, New Zealand Ironman Amanda Parish, Mountaineer David Panofsky and local Triathlete/Expeditioner Peter Nerothin.
The course will begin at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and make way toward the Mississippi River. Crossing the Lake St. Bridge, it then follows the bike path along West River Parkway before returning to the east bank across the Ford Bridge. Bring your cameras for the return trip along the stunning Mississippi Blvd bike trail – its view of the Minneapolis Skyline is unbeatable.
The course is less than 10 miles as a whole. Volunteer support will be provided by the Epsilon Pi Alpha Fraternity of Gustavus Adolphus College. Refreshments will also be available along the way. Please note that riders are expected to finish the course within 2 hours in the interest of everyone’s safety.
